Is Sebastek pulling the rug out from under Twitter?

Newsletter platform Sebastek has joined the list of technology companies seeking to capitalize on the anxiety prevailing among users of the micro-blogging platform Twitter after it was acquired by American billionaire Elon Musk and announced his intention to impose a monthly subscription of $ 8 for each of the verified accounts with a blue tick.

During the past few days, Sebastek explicitly revealed its targeting of the Twitter user base, before launching a new service called Sebastek Chat, which is a direct competitor to the Twitter platform.
The new feature allows writing newsletters on the Sebastek platform to communicate directly with the readers of their messages through the Sebastek application for mobile phones.

The TechCrunch website, which specializes in technology issues, pointed out that by launching the chat service that allows the writer to exchange dialogue with his readers, the Substack platform will not only compete with Twitter, but also networks and platforms that allow communication between large groups such as Discord, Slack and Telegram.

The company said that the new conversation feature will eliminate the need for writers to use different software tools or navigate between different subscriber lists in order to manage conversations with the readers of their writings.

At the same time, the chat feature in Sebastek is not a clone of the chat feature in Twitter in any way, despite the similarity between the two in the way the writers used it in the past in Twitter.

In some cases, the chat feature can be used to discuss current events, as a place to exchange emails, or as any other way writers can choose to interact with their readers. Readers can also interact with emojis or add comments in conversation topics.
