For the first time in two years... Millions of pilgrims settle in Mina

for the first time in two years, the level of Mina Al-Taher witnessed a crowd of millions of pilgrims settling in Mina in preparation for the “great pilgrimage” day.

Today, Thursday, the eighth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1443 AH, the pilgrims arrived at Mina to spend the day of Tarwiyah, following the guidance of the Messenger Muhammad – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him -.

Thousands of security men from various sectors accompanied the influx of the pilgrims to Mina, surrounded by the grace of God.

The movement of escalation of the pilgrims to Mina was characterized by a smooth flow according to a traffic plan that included the main axes of the road network, with security follow-up from the sky of the Mashar through security aviation to ensure the regularity of the escalation phase, while the various service agencies harnessed their capabilities and energies to serve the pilgrims in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for all sectors of the state concerned with Hajj to carry out to the fullest extent in accordance with the organizational and operational plans for the Hajj season 1443 AH, which is the largest after the Corona pandemic, and to do everything that would facilitate the pilgrims to perform their worship and rituals with spirituality and tranquility, while maintaining on the health gains achieved in the face of the pandemic.

What does the pilgrim do on the day of perdition?

– It is desirable on this day for those who have made it permissible after the Umrah, and they are those who are enjoying themselves or those who rescind their Ihram to Umrah, from the Qarnin and the Mufradeen, to enter ihraam for Hajj from their homes, as well as those who wanted to perform Hajj from the people of Mecca. And that is because Jaber, may God be pleased with him, said about the description of the Prophet’s pilgrimage, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “Then all the people came and they shortened themselves, except for the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and those who had a sacrifice with him. When the day of al-Tarwiyah came, they went to Mina and qualified for the pilgrimage.”

It is mustahabb for someone who wants to enter into Ihram to wash, clean and wear perfume, and to do what he did when entering Ihram from the meeqaat.

He intends to perform Hajj with his heart and responds by saying: “Perform Hajj on behalf of someone else, and if he is afraid of an obstacle that prevents him from completing his Hajj, he stipulated that.” He said: “If something imprisoned me, then my place is where you imprisoned me. On the authority of So-and-so, or on the authority of So-and-so’s mother if she was a female, then he continues to recite the Talbiyah, Labeik, O Allah, Labeik, Labeik, there is no partner for you, Labeik, for praise and grace are for you and the King has no partner for you, and if it increases: Labbayk, the God of truth is for you, so it is good to prove that from the Prophet, may God bless Peace be upon him.

It is mustahabb for pilgrims to go to Mina in the morning prayer on the eighth day before midday, and to recite a lot of Talbiyah.

– The pilgrim prays in Mina the noon, afternoon, sunset, evening, and ninth dawn prayers shortening without combining, except for sunset and dawn, so they should not shorten them; Jaber, may God be pleased with him, said: “The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, rode to Mina and prayed there Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr, then stayed for a while until the sun rose.” Narrated by Muslim (2137).

The pilgrims from the people of Mecca shorten the prayers in Mina, so there is no difference between them and other pilgrims, because the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – prayed shortening for the people of Mecca and others and did not order them to complete, and if it was obligatory for them, he would have made it clear to them.

– It is desirable for the pilgrim to stay in Mina on the night of Arafat, because of what he, peace and blessings of God be upon him, did. If he prays the dawn of the ninth day, he stays until the sun rises, and when it rises he walks from Mina to Arafat, answering or shouting, because Anas, may God be pleased with him, said: And he grows taller than us and does not denounce him.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (1549) with his wording, and Muslim (2254), and the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, approved them for that, but it is better to adhere to the Talbiyah, because the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, adhered to it.

– What has been mentioned of the actions of the eighth day is Sunnah for the pilgrim to do them following the example of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and it is not obligatory.
