It is the phase of separation, and it is similar to the first phase, but the moon is in a hurry to escape from the suffocation that hit it from the dimming phase to see a faint full moon and then come out after that with a bright full moon. The three phases take between 3 to 4 hours, as the time of the phenomenon depends on the proximity and distance of the moon from the shadow of the Earth. The early Arabs inferred from the phenomenon of the lunar eclipse on the sphericity of the Earth, as it appears at the phase of the moon’s dimming in an arc on the face of the moon and were not straight lines.
