Dubai Opera is preparing to launch a series of special shows during the month of September, including four spectacular and world-famous concerts and shows
The month-long program includes five performances of the ballet “Romeo and Juliet”, the famous love story, the opera “La Traviata” and the concert “Ghostly Kisses” by French-Canadian singer-songwriter Margot Sauvé, as well as the world’s largest tribute to the late King of Pop. Michael Jackson.
The September performances come according to the following program: “Romeo and Juliet” from September 9 to 11, and this show provides an opportunity to enjoy watching William Shakespeare’s masterpiece, “Romeo and Juliet”, through a vibrant artistic performance by the “Georgia Ballet”. The creative dancers tell the story of the two lovers, Romeo and Juliet, and their love affair that stumbles after a fierce feud between their feuding families, which finally ends in tragic events, and dazzling ballet dances are presented to the music of the famous composer Sergei Prokofiev.
On a subsequent date, which runs from September 13 to 14, the prestigious opera house “La Traviata” will present the world famous opera, which is composed of three scenes by Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, based on the play “The Lady of the Camellia” adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas Jr. Featuring one of the most iconic, romantic and tragic compositions of all time, Verdi’s enchanting masterpiece contrasts glamorous party scenes with delicate moments with a captivating performance.
The concert, “Ghostly Kisses”, is scheduled for September 17, and represents an integrated musical project by Margot Sauvé, French-Canadian singer-songwriter, and will take place one evening only at Dubai Opera. The concert will be the largest so far and the only one for the artist “Sofieh” in the Middle East and North Africa.
On September 23-24, Dubai Opera will host the largest international tribute to the late King of Pop Michael Jackson in Dubai for the first time ever, and the show will include his most famous songs. Performed by Rodrigo Teezer, the world-famous show includes the life and work of Jackson, with choreography and special costumes designed by LaVelle Smith, the dancer and choreographer of the King of Pop himself
