On Monday, Salman Rushdie himself confirmed, through his documented account on Twitter, that the prestigious American magazine had published an excerpt from “Victory City.”
This is the first time that Rushdie has posted a tweet on Twitter since August 9, when he also tweeted to announce the release of his novel in February 2023.
Three days later, on August 12, while participating in a conference in Chautauqua, upstate New York, he was seriously injured by a knife attack by a young man who rushed at him as the writer was about to give a speech.
