Doubts were raised about Paulo Dybala’s participation with the Argentine national team in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after the player was injured during a penalty kick for Roma in the match against Lecce on Sunday evening in the Italian Football League.
Dybala was injured in the left thigh during the execution of the penalty kick, from which he scored the winning goal 2/1 for Roma against Lecce.
Italian news reports stated that the examinations scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, will reveal the nature of the injury and the period that Dybala will be absent from the stadiums, amid anticipation of the possibility of his participation in the 2022 World Cup, which begins in Qatar on November 20.
Jose Mourinho, coach of Roma, said he was not very optimistic about the possibility of Dybala returning to the stadiums this year.
He added: “I can say that things do not look good, they look bad. Unfortunately, they are closer to bad than they are not good.”
