Trump gives Hamas a “last chance” and threatens it with hell if it rejects the deal
Trump: Hamas must respond to the proposed deal by Sunday, 6 p.m. Washington time
US President Donald Trump gave Hamas until 10 p.m. GMT on Friday to accept his plan to end the war with Israel in Gaza, warning it of “hell” if it rejected it.
Trump said in a post on Truth Social that Hamas has “until 6 p.m. Sunday, Washington time” to respond to his proposal, which has Israeli support.
He added, “If this last-chance agreement is not concluded, all the gates of hell will open on Hamas, like no one has ever seen before.”
The US president stated that most of the Palestinian movement’s fighters are “besieged and militarily besieged, waiting for me to give the go-ahead for their swift extermination. As for the others, we know where and who you are, and you will be hunted down and killed.”
He continued, “I call on all innocent Palestinians to immediately leave this area, which is likely to witness great death in the future, for safer parts of Gaza. Everyone will be cared for by those willing to help. Fortunately for Hamas… they will be given one last chance
Amid anticipation of Hamas’s response to the US plan, the movement said it needed some time to study Trump’s plan for the Gaza Strip, according to what Agence France-Presse reported, citing a Hamas leader.
The leader said, “Hamas is still continuing consultations regarding the Trump plan presented to the movement, and has informed mediators that the consultations are ongoing and will require some time.”
Last Monday, the US President announced a plan described as “historic” to end the war and release detainees.
As efforts to persuade Hamas to accept the Gaza plan continue, White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said that Trump’s plan has received international acclaim, stressing that the possibility of Hamas withdrawing from the plan would force Trump to draw a red line
Earlier this week, the White House unveiled a 20-point plan calling for an immediate ceasefire, a prisoner exchange held by Hamas for Palestinians held by Israel, a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and the formation of a transitional government led by an international body. On Tuesday, Trump gave Hamas three to four days to agree to the plan.
Hamas confirmed on Thursday the difficulty of releasing all living detainees and handing over the bodies of those killed to the Israeli side within 72 hours, as stipulated in the US President’s plan.
According to the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency, Hamas explained to mediators during the Doha consultations that the movement “requests more time to review the conditions contained in the Trump plan.” The movement’s representatives also expressed “reservations on some of the twenty-point plan,” in addition to clear guarantees of Israel’s commitment to a ceasefire, the need for timetables for Israel’s withdrawal, and the clause regarding “Hamas’ disarmament
