Psychological horror film “Smile” topped the box office in the United States and Canada on Sunday, ahead of the dark thriller “Don’t Worry Darling”, proving that scary tapes attract a large audience to North American screens.
Produced by Paramount and directed by Parker Finn, “Smile” grossed $22 million between Friday and Sunday, according to figures released Sunday by Expeter Relations.
The film deals with a touching story about a doctor played by Susie Bacon – the daughter of actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick – who loses touch with reality after witnessing a horrific event that happened to a patient.
