The
Brazilian Neymar da Silva of Paris Saint-Germain bought the ball for the final match of the 2021 African Cup of Nations, which was held between Senegal and Egypt on February 6, 2022 in Cameroon.
Senegal beat Egypt in this match on penalties, and won the first title in its history of the African Cup of Nations.
Neymar paid 160,000 euros to buy the African final ball, at an auction organized by Paris Saint-Germain’s Senegalese player, Idrissa Gueye.
The auction was announced at a huge party attended by a number of Paris Saint-Germain players, led by French star Kylian Mbappe.
The auction funds will be allocated to support children in Africa, through funding the associations for the treatment of children’s cancer.
