A long time after the famous dispute between American star Brad Pitt and his ex-wife, American star Angelina Jolie, over the Chateau Miraval vineyard, the former won the final round of the trial.
In detail, Brad Pitt won his epic legal battle against his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, over the French vineyard, which is worth $500 million.
Reports stated that the 60-year-old “Moneyball” star appeared before the court in California and Luxembourg regarding “Chateau Miraval,” arguing that he should have the majority share, through which he controls the farm located in France, after Jolie sold ( 48 years old), its shares are owned by Yuri Shefler, owner of a giant Russian company, “Stoli”.
The legal conflict began when Jolie sold her shares, and Schaeffler became an equal partner with Pitt, as Angelina said that she owned a 50% share of the farm, which was not agreed upon by Pitt, who submitted documents indicating that the couple initially purchased the farm with 60% for Pitt. And 40% for Julie.
When they tied the knot in 2014, Pitt gifted an additional 10% to Jolie as part of their wedding, making it a 50-50 farm when they split in 2016.
But Jolie then sold her shares, which caused Pitt to challenge the validity of the deal concluded by his ex-wife, indicating that he must still retain 60% ownership.
In this regard, Page Six quoted a source close to the case as saying: “Pete owned 60%, and she owned 40%. When they got married, the agreement was that she would get 10% from him, a 50/50 agreement, reached as a symbol of their partnership.”
Subsequently, Pitt argued in court that the couple’s agreement to the additional 10% was unenforceable, and that he must recover the percentage and maintain control of the property.
Accordingly, the Luxembourg Court ruled, at the present time, that the 10% belongs to Pete, until a final ruling is issued, indicating that this ruling represented a guarantee for him to retain 60/40 and control of the property, and is not a final decision, as the legal battle continues. It is expected to extend for another year or more, leaving the final decision pending.
It is noteworthy that Pitt accused the “Maleficent” star of trying to harm him, take revenge on him, and take complete control of millions of dollars by selling her share in that farm, when he filed a lawsuit against her about two years ago, and pointed out at the time that this decision of his ex-wife forced her to partner with a foreign person. He has suspicious relationships and intentions, which harm his interests.
