The organizers of the Oscars announced that singer Rihanna will sing at the award ceremony of these most prestigious film awards in American cinema next month, a few weeks after her remarkable return to the parties.
The Barbados-born pop star will perform at the concert, which will be held on March 12 in Hollywood, her lead-in to the Oscar for Best Original Song, “Lift Me Up,” from the superhero movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
The competition in this category also includes the song “Hold My Hand”, sung by Lady Gaga in “Top Gun: Maverick”, and “Nato Natto” by M. M. Keravani for the movie “RRR”.
And Rihanna grabbed the spotlight about two weeks ago through her artistic performance during the halftime break in the final match of the American Football Championship (Super Bowl), after an absence from live performances that lasted seven years.
The 35-year-old has focused in recent years on her cosmetics brand, and her fortune has now exceeded a billion dollars.
She also gave birth to her first child in May 2022.
And the shape of her round belly ignited during her presentation in the “Super Bowl” match on social media, after which the singer confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child.
But she disappointed her fans, who had hoped that Rihanna would present, during her last show, excerpts from the new album that the singer has been talking about for years.
The song “Lift Me Up” is the first Oscar nomination for Rihanna, who has won nine Grammy Awards during her career to date.
The 95th Academy Awards, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 12.
