
Tunisia qualified for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, after defeating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in the African qualifiers.
Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane scored Tunisia’s goal in the 90+4 minute, joining Morocco as the first African team to qualify for the World Cup.
The qualifying system divides the participating teams into nine groups. The group winners qualify directly for the World Cup, while the four best runners-up teams in their groups participate in play-offs to determine which team will represent Africa in the global play-offs for the World cup
