Netflix is reviving "All of Us Are Dead" with a second season

Netflix  has announced the return of the Korean thriller drama “All of Us Are Dead” for a new season, following the huge success of the first season when it premiered in 2022.

The story of “All of Us Are Dead” revolves around a zombie outbreak in a high school and the students’ struggle to survive this hellish situation. With the series’ huge success, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of a second season, especially after Netflix announced a second season in June 2022, but it has yet to see the light of day.

At the time, the global platform simply referred to a statement by the series’ director, Lee Jae-kyu, who said that the series’ story was written to last for several seasons, and that the second season would include new themes that would surprise the audience. However, the wait was prolonged, and the series never reappeared.

after  a three-year delay, Netflix Korea revealed in July that filming for “All of Us Are Dead 2” had officially begun. The platform’s account posted photos of a group of the old and new cast, but expectations indicate that the second season of “All of Us Are Dead” will premiere mid-next year at the latest.

The second season of the series stars Park Ji-ho as Nam Eun-joo, Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-sun, Cho Ye-hyun as Choi Nam-ra, Park Solomon (Lomon) as Lee Soo-hyuk, and newcomers Roh Jae-won, Lee Min-jae, Kim Se-yeon, and Squid Game star Yoon-jae.

Returning  to the events of the first season, which ended with the survivors meeting Namra on the school rooftop, leaving many questions unanswered. In the new season, the focus on the virus is expected to continue, with deeper insights into the “hybrid,” a person who hasn’t fully transformed into a zombie. Actor Yoon Chan-young plays this role. The series will discuss zombie transformation, the development of their characters, the extent of their impact on those around them, and how to survive it.

The second season of “All Of Us Are Dead” is expected to consist of 12 episodes, each one hour long.
