HumanChat Launches in Saudi Arabia The First Advanced Arabic Artificial Intelligence Model

Human a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, launched today, Monday, the interactive chat application “Humane Chat,” powered by the “Allam 34B” model, the first advanced Arabic artificial intelligence model.

The app, available on the web, iOS, and Android, is first offering its services in Saudi Arabia as a strategic move, with plans to expand across the Middle East and globally.

HumanChat aims to serve more than 400 million Arabic speakers and two billion Muslims, providing them with an AI experience that caters to their cultural and linguistic needs. The app is powered by the Allam 34B model, which delivers culturally sensitive responses based on local values and history, as confirmed by independent testing conducted by Cohere.

The app includes features such as instant search, voice input, and data hosting within Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Humane CEO Tariq Amin said: “The launch of the application represents a source of pride for Saudi Arabia and a historic achievement in the quest to build local AI technologies that combine technological advancements with cultural authenticity. We demonstrate that globally competitive technologies can stem from our language, infrastructure, and values. These technologies are being developed in Saudi Arabia by Saudi talent and competencies, with the participation of a select group of international experts.”

It’s worth noting that the model was originally designed for Arabic, but it performs excellently in both Arabic and English. It was trained using one of the largest Arabic datasets in history and was refined and developed with the input of more than 600 experts and 250 evaluators. The result is unprecedented proficiency in the Arabic language and a deep understanding of Islamic and Middle Eastern culture and its nuances.

The team behind the Allam model and the HumanChat app embodies the new generation of AI leaders in Saudi Arabia. More than 120 AI specialists, including 35 PhD holders, participated in building the model, with an equal gender ratio.
