Looking at his biography, Caprio (86 years old) grew up in the city of Providence, Rhode Island, USA, and comes from humble origins, and is the second among three brothers with his mother, “Philomena,” and father, “Antonio,” who worked as a street seller of fruits and milk.
Long before Caprio became a judge, he shined shoes, distributed newspapers, and worked with his father in a truck as a distributor and milk seller, following in his parents’ footsteps in working hard to improve his life. Caprio graduated from Central High School in 1954, and went on to study at Providence College for four more years. Because he wanted to become a lawyer, he decided to attend night classes, to obtain a law degree, while working as a teacher during the day.
