Turki Al-Sheikh is the most influential figure in the world of boxing
Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), topped Boxing News magazine’s list of the most influential figures in the world of boxing for the second year in a row. This global recognition demonstrates the stature that Saudi Arabia has reached, with the support of its leadership, in hosting and organizing major sporting events.
In recent years, Al-Sheikh has spearheaded a major transformation in the international boxing scene by bringing the world’s most powerful fights to Riyadh, offering fans historic encounters featuring some of the world’s most prominent champions and decision-makers.
According to the prestigious magazine, Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh relaunched The Ring magazine with a new spirit, successfully restructured the pricing structure of the global streaming platform DAZN to meet audience demands, and achieved an exceptional feat by bringing together promotional giants Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren in a collaboration that was long considered impossible.
This crowning achievement embodies the accelerating development of boxing in the capital, Riyadh, reshaping the contours of modern boxing and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading center on the international sports scene, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The list featured several important names in the world of boxing, including British boxing promoter Frank Warren, who came in second, his rival Eddie Hearn, who came in third, and their American counterpart Bob Arum, who came in fourth. Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez, who will be fighting a major fight next September against American Terence Crawford, will be the talk of the world
