The sci-fi film grossed $440.5 million at the North American box office, in addition to the $957 million it earned overseas. Only six films have crossed the $1 billion mark in their first two weeks. The family film “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”, produced by Universal, came in second place in North American halls, and collected $ 22 million in the last weekend.
