The fan, who was in the stands of Khalifa Stadium to watch his country’s national team match, raised a banner that read: “Dear manager… Thank you for giving me two weeks off,” in reference to giving him the opportunity to attend the Azraq matches in the 2022 World Cup.

The Japanese national team achieved a big surprise and defeated the German machines with two goals to one, in the match that brought them together, in the first round of the group stage for the 2022 World Cup.

Ilkay Gundogan led Germany in the 33rd minute from a penalty kick, before Ritsu Doan equalized for Japan in the 75th minute, then Takuma Asano added the second goal for the Blues in the 83rd minute, so that the Samurai snatched three precious points.
