Director General of the Syrian Establishment for International Fairs and Exhibitions, Mohammad Hamza, stated that 850 local and foreign companies from 22 countries are expected to participate in the Damascus International Fair, which will be held from August 27 to September 5

Hamza said that the 62nd Damascus International Fair will be held for the first time since the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024.

He explained that the exhibition is preparing for its largest participation since its launch in 1954, with 850 local and foreign companies from 22 countries, led by Saudi Arabia and Turkey, expected to participate.

He added that 80 companies from Saudi Arabia and more than 40 Turkish companies are expected to participate so far.

He stated that 225 foreign and 625 local companies will display their products on the first day of the exhibition.

He pointed out that the exhibition will include events in the food, technology, construction, and chemicals sectors, in addition to art and culture.

Hamza noted that the exhibition will feature economic seminars and forums and will include interactive programs between two Syrian ministers and the public.

On December 8, 2024, Syrian factions took control of the country, ending 61 years of Baath Party rule, including 53 years of Assad family control.
