The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Rekragui, confirmed that his team played a strong match against his Croatian counterpart, the runner-up of the 2018 World Cup, in their opening match in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Moroccan national team started its campaign in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals, with a goalless draw against its Croatian counterpart, in the match that brought them together today, Wednesday, at Al-Bayt Stadium, in the first round of the sixth group matches of the tournament.
“Croatians have a wonderful midfield, they ran a lot and they have a distinguished technical quality. We respected them a lot at some times,” Rekragui said in remarks reported by the Moroccan newspaper, Al-Mukhtab.
He added, “We played hard and got tired in the end. I thank the boys. We showed that we are a good team.”
Walid Rekragui concluded his remarks, saying: “We must continue to work, and we have 4 days to recover before the Belgium match.”
